MUSIC IS A CHALLENGING DISCIPLINE BUT THEN THE MORE TERRITORIES YOU CONQUER, THE MORE YOU WANT TO DO MORE

Obiadi Peter Ekene known with his stage name PeterWalter just recently release his new Singles “You’re Beautiful” was in a one-on-one interview:

WHEN DID YOU START PROFESSIONAL MUSIC? 

In the year 2016

HAVE YOU FACED ANY CHALLENGES WITH MUSIC?

Yeah, Music is a challenging discipline but then the more territories you conquer. The more you want to do more. 

SO WE HEARD YOUR GENRE OF MUSIC IS RNB FUSION OF REGGEA, WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO DO THAT GENRE?

Well, I would say it is a choice, I simply just understand what fits me perfectly than anyone else. I feel this is it for me. 

WE HEARD YOUR SINGING STARTED FROM YOUR SECONDARY SCHOOL, TELL US ABOUT IT?

Yeah right, I can remember vividly how much music I had back then at school. It was a Catholic Juniorate Seminary School .I was a member of the choir and was always selected to sing the responsorial psalm, solos, etc.

WHO DO YOU LOOK UP TO IN TERMS OF MUSIC LINE?

(Laughs) I would say in the western music, Artists like John legend, Shawn Mendes and Khalid. From my Nigerian brethren its Bez, Darey, Praiz and Timi Dakolo. 

IS PERFORMING MUSIC THAT EASY?

Well, music is not an easy work whereby you come and do your thing and go, music is about what you create, think and activities around you and as an artist you need to know about the music business.

HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE MUSIC?

I really love music, and I can't do without music, even when I’m doing my house chores I still play music, so you see how music works

HOW DOES MUSIC WORK FOR YOU?

(Laughs) If you ask me I will tell you there is a spirit behind music that when you hear a particular beat or sound, you start creating some ryhmes…thats for me though (smiles) 

HOW DID YOU GET THE NAME PETER_WALTER

Actually, Peter is my name, I only combined them together because it sounds rich and nice, and also fits my kind of music

TELL US HOW YOU FELT IN THE JUST CONCLUDED MAKE MUSIC LAGOS 2017?

I felt happy, really cool.

DO YOU HAVE A BAND?

Not yet, but I believe I will when the right time comes

WHEN I FIRST LISTEN TO YOUR RECENT RELEASED SINGLE YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL I THOUGHT IT WAS AN AMERICAN, WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE THE LOVE SONG?

Hahahahaha, my inspiration to write the song is a friend, you all will know later (Laughs)

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED MODELING?

Yea but for now I haven’t gotten an agency still focus on music

Yea, it’s going on fine. I run a designing wears called Kenii wears… We deal on male wears.
